How do I register for a course?

If you wish to register for a course, login and select Register for a Course from the drop-down menu.

 

If you are not a member yet, please register here for free:

Select the course you want to take and complete the registration form.

How do I know which course is good for me

In order to choose a course you have to understand what kind of study you prefer to do.

 

If you are an independent person, you wish to learn and practice at your own pace, with a course that is not expensive but provides very high value then choose a self-study course: https://www.cyberitalian.com/?page=home#section-courses

 

If you like online studying but you need to have a structure with a tutor who guides you, corrects your work, gives you feedback and is available in fixed-schedule audio/video group classes, choose a tutored course: https://www.cyberitalian.com/?page=home#section-courses

How does a Tutored Course work?

Tutored Courses start every other Monday.

 

Here is how a Tutored Course works: The first week of the course, you receive instructions on how to access your online sessions (self-administered asynchronous sessions).

 

During each week of the course you will have a session to complete, with a self-administered activity or lesson. You will receive an email every Monday to remind you to access your session.

 

Every other week - starting from week 1 - you will have an assignment to complete and post in the Class Forum for the teacher. The teacher will carefully review your assignment, correct it and provide you with constructive feedback.

The teacher will post corrections and feedback in the Class Forum and in your Progress Report page.

 

Every other week - starting from week 2 - you will have real-time audio-video classes via google-meet. During the audio-video classes, students meet with a CyberItalian teacher in a session with screen-sharing, so the teacher can show the educational material to students. In the beginner level, students pronounce Italian words or sentences and reply to simple questions, according to the model presented by the teacher. In the other levels, the teacher-student conversation includes the topics presented in the sessions or other topics related to the students' language skills. Students can ask questions or discuss various subjects. Some of the subjects are proposed by the teacher and others spring up spontaneously during the class.

 

CyberItalian teachers are professional teachers, so they conduct each class by taking into account the needs of the students.

 

The audio-video classes are optional (if you miss a class, it will not affect your course). If you wish, you can participate in all the audio-video group classes of your level (e.g. beginner classes are yellow in the Calendar), unless the teacher suggests otherwise (the teacher could ask a student to change levels if they need to reinforce their comprehension and speaking skills, or if they need to be in a faster paced class or other reasons).

 

The audio/video classes are 50 minutes long, click here for schedule. Please note, the Calendar reports your local time in a 24-hour format (provided that your computer is set to your local time). For example, the Beginner class on Saturday is at 16 (4 pm) Italian time.

Video is not working. What do I do?

Thank you for your feedback. Your opinion is very important to us and your feedback allows us to address any unexpected problems that might be occurring on the website. Please, never hesitate to send us your feedback.

 

Please note, some videos are disabled in certain countries for various reasons. In case Youtube does not allow the video to play in your country, you can search on Youtube for the same author and title and find an alternative video.

 

Unfortunately there is not much we can do if videos are not allowed in a certain country or if they are deleted by Youtube for various reasons.

 

Please use other activities on our website (login cyberitalian.com, select Activities from the drop down menu) to keep on practicing.

I cannot login. Why?

We are sorry for the problem you have experienced with the access to CyberItalian.

 

Everything is working well on our end, so we think the problem may be due to:

 

1. incorrect insertion of your username and password. Please make sure you use CORRECT capital letters when you LOGIN cyberitalian.com, the system is case sensitive.

 

OR

 

2. you have attempted to access the site too many times with wrong credentials and the system locked you out for security reasons. In this case, please use the contact form let us know your ip address (check it here: http://whatismyipaddress.com/) so the webmaster can unlock you.

 

Please try again and let us know if you still have problems. In this case, please let us know also which system (pc, mac, smartphone) and browser (Edge, Chrome, etc.) you are using.

How much private lessons cost

The cost of 6 lessons of 60 minutes each is $239.00.

In order to schedule the private lessons and assign you a teacher, we have to know:

 

1) where you are located (city and state, so that we can evaluate the time zone differences)

 

2) what day and time you would prefer for the lessons (please give us a few options)

 

3) if you have studied Italian already (if you did, please take a placement test here: https://www.cyberitalian.com/?page=placement_test.html

 

4) if you have a good Internet connection and headset or no background noise (e.g. if you are in a noisy place, please use headset).

Has my membership expired? How do I register again?

Thank you for your interest in renewing your membership with CyberItalian!

 

Use our contact form to check with the office if your membership expired. They will help you to register again.

 

this is why you could not log-in anymore. We have now opened your membership temporarily so you will have time until .................. to: 1. Log in www.cyberitalian.com with your username (.....................) and password (...................) 2. In the menu on the right, select Register for a Course 3. Select Self-study Course and complete the registration to renew your membership (recurring payment: monthly or biannual). In this way you will get access to ALL Self-Study lessons (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced for a total of 60 lessons), ALL Activities and the Ask-the-Prof service.

How do I cancel my membership?

Use our contact form to request a cancellation. The webmaster will send you confirmation of the cancellation. Please allow the necessary time for it (usually 2 or 3 working days).

How do I start my course?

After you Log In, go to My Courses and select My Tasks. Select the course you have purchased and start from lesson 1 or session 1.
