Apps versus Websites

Buona pratica, in qualsiasi modo tu pratichi!

At CyberItalian, we are convinced that learning must come from different sources. Students remember an information much better when it is repeated or explained several times in different ways. In this sense we always encourage our students to explore several methods of learning.

Apps - that are now so fashionable - help the study for the immediacy of their access. You download the app to your mobile and you can quickly use flash cards, practice the verbs, listen to the audio of the words, play games and more.

You can create an excellent linguistic base in this way.

However, many of our students tell us that they come from websites and apps that initially make you learn in a fun way but then fail to take you to the next level. They do not encourage an in-depth language learning.

We at CyberItalian, love to teach the language also through the cultural aspects, art, history, music, cuisine, and the natural beauties of Italy, as well as through many exercises and lessons for an in-depth language learning.

Many websites (such as CyberItalian) are now using the new PWA (Progressive Web Apps) technology to provide on the mobile web the same engaging experience of a native app.

For instance, you can access CyberItalian from your computer but also from your mobile.

But the best thing is to try out apps and websites and practice, practice, practice!

Indeed, practice is the only key to learning.

Below you will find a selection of the 5 most popular apps on the internet and then an excerpt of the cultural part of a CyberItalian lesson where you can practice Italian listening and understanding with a simple exercise.

Read also this New York Times article on the subject.

Enjoy the practice, in any way you practice!

From CyberItalian Beginner lesson 16.

After learning about Greetings, Family, Rastaurant, Bar, Booking a hotel, etc., here is Lady Grammar and Raffaello!

Listen to the audio and on a sheet of paper write the Italian words missing from the following text.

Is Grammar scaring you? **** : there are also Morphology and Syntax that have very spooky names!

Jokes apart, during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, Grammar was considered one of the seven liberal arts. It was not just about learning **** , but about understanding the language as a whole, learning how **** could be used to create effects, strengthening expression and meanings.

It was the foundation of every **** , philosophical inquiry and **** of **** .

**** creates harmony among words in the same way that an artist can create harmony in his work.

Observe the **** that Raphael is able to create in the following **** .

It seems perfectly balanced and every element is important for this balance.
