This abbreviated self-paced program is for high school or college students who need to repeat a course and reinforce their knowledge. They learn and practice Italian online with the guidance of a CyberItalian teacher who monitors and evaluates the student's practice regularly.

 

Students get special assignments and written homework corrections, complete their audio lessons, receive personalized feedback and grades and take a final exam.

In the CyberItalian Tutored Courses students follow online language sessions, complete self-administered lessons with exercises and exams, write their essays, record their voice in the audio lessons, and send their assignments and recordings to the teacher. The teacher evaluates the work, grades it and posts corrections and feedback online.

 

The Abbreviated Tutored Courses include: 8 asynchronous sessions, 6 self-administered lessons with exercises and exams, weekly instructions, 2 special assignments, 4 audio lessons, a final exam and other educational materials provided during the course.

2 special assignments: students post the assignments in the Class Forum; the teacher will evaluate them and grade them. The teacher will post corrections and feedback in the Class Forum and in the student's report card.

 

4 audio lessons*: students complete self-administered audio lessons with a Pronunciation Guide and Voice Recorder. Students send their recording to the teacher for evaluation and grading. Students are required to have a headset/microphone combination for the audio lessons.

 

 

*Most students prefer to self-administer their audio lessons so they can organize their schedule and self-pace their work. However, upon request, students have the option of participating in group classes and meet with a CyberItalian teacher in a virtual audio/video classroom with a fixed-time schedule.

 

The class forum is accessible online anytime. Students post questions or assignments in the Class Forum, receive replies, corrections and a personalized feedback from the teacher.

 

Students can see their grades and personalized feedback anytime in the Progress Report.

Please note: If you want to obtain a language proficiency certification officially recognized by the Italian government, you have to take the CELI exam (provided by the University of Foreigners of Perugia) or CILS exam (provided by the University of Foreigners of Siena). These exams can be taken in Italy (at the Universities for Foreigners of Perugia or Siena) or outside of Italy (at the Italian Cultural Institutes available in more than a hundred cities in different countries). Other universities are now offering official certifications.
