L'uomo come misura di tutte le cose

The Vitruvian Man is the image chosen by the Economy minister (and later President of the Italian Republic) Carlo Azeglio Ciampi to appear on the national side of Italian 1 euro coins, for its high symbolic meaning of: "man as a measure of all things". (source wikipedia.org)

The Italian 1 euro coin

I believe this is an extremely powerful and meaningful vision: on the Italian money we are reminded that man is the measure of all things.

A very practical and materialistic thing is associated to the human being.

And this is definitely part of the Italian language and culture. This is what we can bring to our students.
