This month I had the pleasure to meet the Italian-American university students who participated in the cultural exchange with NOIAW and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE).
I conducted a seminar for these young ladies on “The Role of Italian Language and Culture in Present Society”.
How many wonderful things we can accomplish through the values of our Italian heritage!
The Italian language and culture can add a human touch to our daily life, improve personal growth, self-expression, communication and relationships, and bring a positive contribution to our present world and society.
The values inherent in Italian language and culture encourage a big vision of life, and help to make this vision come alive.

Asclepio è il dio della medicina e della guarigione nella mitologia greca antica. Il bastone di Asclepio, con un serpente che vi si arrampica intorno, rimane ancora oggi il simbolo della medicina.
In onore di Asclepio, i serpenti erano spesso usati nei rituali di guarigione e i serpenti non velenosi potevano aggirarsi sui pavimenti dei dormitori dove i malati e i feriti giacevano.
E tu? Potresti dormire con un serpente che ti gira intorno?!
Asclepius is the god of medicine and healing in ancient Greek mythology. The rod of Asclepius, a snake-entwined staff, remains a symbol of medicine today. In honor of Asclepius, snakes were often used in healing rituals and non-venomous snakes were allowed to crawl on the floor in dormitories where the sick and injured slept.
