Take a break in your business and personal life!

The Italian Coaching Program is an intensive and life touching experience.

It develops through the analysis of some Renaissance masterworks, humanistic milestones, and other aspects of the ancestral Italian culture: how they are related to ourselves, how they can inspire us, how we can apply their brilliant insight to our daily life and work.

In the Italian Coaching Program, you practice the language and the culture intensively, and you interact and create a bond with your Coach, CyberItalian Founder and Head Teacher, Maura Garau. The program can be conducted in Italian, English, or both (when you don't understand something in Italian we'll speak English).

CyberItalian Founder and
Italian Language Coach

"I've always been mesmerized by the richness of Italian creativity and humanism. For many years I've been thinking about a course to help my students get the 'ultimate experience' about Italian language and culture: how could I extract the most important values of Italian culture, creativity and humanism and include them into a well designed and interesting language course? How could I have my students apply their creativity and insight during the course? The Italian Coaching Program is the answer to these questions, and has the highest personal value an online program can offer. I do hope you will enjoy the Italian Coaching Program. It is a journey into the Italian language and culture, and into your 'Italian persona'. Buon viaggio! I am looking forward to sharing precious moments with you." Maura

Your assignment

The following is a short excerpt from Session 1 of the Italian Coaching Program.
It is about the meaning of portraits during the Renaissance, and about the creative process:

The Renaissance marked a turning point in the art of portraits. The bourgeoisie and the nobility grew; having their portraits painted was a sign of power and fame.

"In Italy for a long time the profile position - reminiscent of the Roman Empire - was preferred for portraits. It best expressed the aristocratic ambitions of the new lords of the courts." (Source Wikipedia)

In the following images, we see the famous Federico da Montefeltro with his wife.

Duchi Urbino

The portrait begins to 'break free'.

Notice the lightness and details of this portrait by Botticelli.

The girl is shown in profile, but she is not as 'inanimated' as the portraits of other women. She has a little 'dark circle' under the eye, she seems unsatisfied, a little discontent. Who knows what she is thinking!

The hair of the women in the portraits above are very tidy and contained, while in this case they look more free and almost untidy.

She seems to be like a fashion model of our time.

Someone says Simonetta is the protagonist of the very famous painting by Botticelli: Birth of Venus.

Clicca sull'ingrandimento dell'immagine e guarda quest'uomo dritto negli occhi.

Che sensazione ti fa?

After so many portraits in profile, we begin to see portraits in three-quarter, between profile and full face.

Antonello da Messina plays with the viewer.

Look at this picture, perhaps a self-portrait.

Click on the enlargement and look at this man right in the eyes.
What do you feel?
