In italiano si usa spesso l'inglesismo "fare lo spelling" per chiedere l'ortografia corretta di una parola.
Per compitare con chiarezza ogni lettera, gli italiani usano l'alfabeto telefonico, cioé il nome di una città associato ad ogni lettera dell'alfabeto.

In Italian the English term "spelling" is often used to ask for the correct writing of a word.
To clearly spell each letter, Italians use the telephone alphabet, that is, the name of a city associated with each letter of the alphabet.
