In Italia l'espressione "fare le pulizie di Pasqua" significa "pulire a fondo". La pulizia approfondita della casa era una tradizione che coincideva con il prepararsi al rito pasquale della benedizione delle case, tradizione che in molte famiglie italiane viene ancora mantenuta.

In molte culture l'atto di pulire ha un significato simbolico: purificare se stessi o un luogo, prepararsi ad un evento...
Con le pulizie di Pasqua (o anche con le pulizie di primavera) si aprono le finestre per far entrare l'aria pulita e il sole in casa, e si puliscono i punti che nella pulizia ordinaria non si ha il tempo di fare.
Ma l'idea di pulire è spesso associata alla FATICA.
Molte persone amano cantare mentre puliscono, per alleviare la fatica.
La simpatica canzone seguente, del 1956, si chiama Aprite le finestre.
Curiosità: questa canzone è parte della colonna sonora del film C'è ancora domani (premiato alla Festa del Cinema di Roma e ai Nastri d'argento del 2024).

With Easter cleaning (or spring cleaning as well) we open the windows to let the clean air and sunshine into the house, and we clean the places that in ordinary cleaning we do not have time to do.
But the idea of cleaning is often associated with FATIGUE.
Many people like to sing while cleaning, to relieve the fatigue.
